Three soldiers including a Staff Sergeant arrested in child trafficking ring


Three soldiers and six civilians were all arrested after police posed as 15 year old girls online.

The nine men turned up in downtown Killeen, Texas on Saturday after talking with what they thought were underage girls.

They had offered to buy them drugs and alcohol and to give them money in exchange for sex.

Instead, they were all arrested and charged with underage prostitution which carries a life sentence in Texas.

The operation two-day sting operation by police in Killeen, Texas is reported to have gone ‘smoothly’ with no resistance from the men upon arrest.

The operation was a joint one by the Killeen Police Special Victim’s Unit and the Texas Department of Public Safety Human Trafficking Program.

Two soldiers, Spc. Anthony Xavier Antwon, 25, and Pfc. Timmy Jones Jr., 30, were both charged with a felony of prostitution under the age of 18. This felony carries a sentence of life imprisonment in Texas.

Staff Sgt. Pierre Jean, 32, received a Class A misdemeanor charge for prostitution which carries a much lighter sentence of 1 year imprisonment and a $4,000 fine.

The other 6 men were identified as Brian Harley Flynn, 21, of Temple, Brandon Anthony Lee, 25, of Killeen, Rakeem Jamal Nelson, 28, of Killeen, Shaun Paul Moore, 39, of Kempner and Javier Perez, 40, of Austin.

Five of these were also charged with felony prostitution charges that carry life sentences and one was charged with Class A misdemeanor the same as Staff Sgt. Pierre Jean.

‘The overall goal … was to locate and arrest subjects who were willing to make overt efforts to pay minors to engage in sexual acts,’ the Killeen Police Department said in a statement.

Antwon and Jones are assigned to Fort Hood, which is located alongside Killeen and were listed as inmates at Bell County Jail with bond set at $50,000, according to jail records.

Antwon is a motor transport operator with 4th Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, according to the Fort Hood Public Affairs Office. Jones is a combat engineer with the 87th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade.

Police identified Jean, a combat medic, as a Killeen resident, though he is assigned to the Army Medical Center of Excellence at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. The medical center is about 140 miles south of Killeen.
